Tiny Leaves

A few months ago, my friend Wendee from Hazel Knits asked me to design a pattern for a tiny little sock that she could use as a take home gift along with a sample of her yarn at the recent Sock Summit and other future shows. Once I got over the thrill of being asked to do such a special thing, I set about to come up with a design that highlighted Wendee’s awesome yarns and said Hazel Knits to me.

Borrowing from the leaf motif on the Hazel Knit logo, Tiny Leaves was born.

Tiny Leaves is a mini sock requiring less than 20 yards of fingering weight to complete one sock.  The icord loop at the cuff makes it ideal for hanging on a keychain or even as a holiday ornament. It measures only about two inches by two inches and is knit at a gauge of 36 sts/4 inches on four needles.

Previously exclusive to Hazel Knits, this pattern is now available as a free Ravelry download

Tiny Leaves is shown in this post in Hazel Knits Artisan Sock in Euphorbia, Hoppy Blonde and Shanny Pants, all regular colours available on the Hazel Knits website.

I love the cute socks…I haven’t knit mine yet, but I can’t wait to give it a go!

I found the kit at my local Value Village. So sad that the knitter that got it isn’t going to be able to make it. Not so sad for me, cause I get to knit it. Just too cute for words.
